During the last six months I was on board the warbler, FDR III otherwise known as Frank reported aboard one of the Sweeps in Sasebo. He was a fresh young Ensign who had just been commissioned. Shortly after reporting, the skipper Captain Tom Freeman asked Frank if he wanted to bring the ship into port. The green youngster said, "Sure, I'll give it a go." After doing a near perfect job of docking the ship and getting her tied up, the skipper complimented him on having done an excellent job of bringing her in. The story goes that Frank replied, "Well it is a little bit larger than Grandpa's (THE FDR) yacht but she handles about the same." Mike Goss USS WARBLER
